February 2025 Employment Law Update

Debra Dyleski-Najjar, Esq. presented her monthly legal update on February 6 as Legislative Director of the Greater Merrimack Valley Human Resource Association.  The February update summarizes recent changes implemented by the Trump Administration, including the Executive Orders relating to Diversity Equity and Inclusion programs, changes to immigration policy and enforcement, and staffing changes at the NLRB and EEOC which have impaired the agencies’ ability to act due to loss of a quorum.   The update also discusses recently released IRS guidance on the taxability of state PFML benefits, a Massachusetts Superior Court case on the admissibility into evidence of surreptitious recordings, recently released FAQs on the Massachusetts Pay Transparency law, and recent changes to the United States Department of Labor’s VFCP program.
